Breast Stroke Swimming

This exercise can be performed either seated or standing, however aim to keep the back straight, and avoid swinging the body, keeping your feet staggered, with the band centrally placed under your front foot.

start with your hands at shoulder height extend your hands out to your front aim to keep your hands at shoulder height throughout

Holding the handles in each hand at chest height, push the handles out from your chest in a smooth circular motion, (as in a swimming breast stroke) your hands should stay at shoulder height during the exercise.

Breast stoke actions can be worked in both directions, i.e. taking the hands outwards away from your chest, or inwards taking your hands to your chest then out to your sides (Old English Style).

Focus on keeping your arms parallel to the floor, with your back straight, head up throughout the movement.
