Static Lateral Raise

stagger your legs to help maintain a static position

The static method can be used for a number of different exercises, however always make sure that the weight you use is a lot lighter than your normal lifting weight.

Its essential that you have a strong supporting position, so having your legs staggered with help prevent any forward or rearward leaning, whilst having your arm behind your back will give support and remind you to keep your back straight.

Simply hold the weight out in a static position for as long as you feel comfortable. Its best to work one arm at a time; you may also decide to work through the middle or final part of the movement.
