Calf Machine Raise
Most standing calf machines work in the same way, however always check with a qualified instructor if you're not sure how to use this or any other piece of equipment correctly.

Set the machine up so that when you stand straight with the balls of your feet are on the platform, you have the shoulder weight cushions comfortably placed on your shoulders, - avoid being bent up, or straining to reach the supports.
Keeping your legs straight, lower your heels and the weight as far as possible toward the floor, rising up on your toes as far as possible.
Hold in the upper phase for 2 - 3 seconds, then smoothly return to the starting position.
You may decide to work this exercise, trying out numerous foot placements - feet normal - toes facing out (pigeon toe) - toes facing inwards, with either one or both feet.
