Reactive Hurdle Jumps

Set up a number of hurdles dependant upon your fitness / strength ability. You will want to pace out the hurdles so that your not forced to either over stretch or brake during the exercise movement.

Stand facing the hurdles, with your feet shoulder width apart, hands by your sides. Swing both arms upwards whilst bringing your knees up towards your chest, in order to clear the hurdles.

When you land, immediately explode upwards again, clearing the next hurdle.

Always make sure that the hurdles are facing the correct way, so that if you hit them, they will fall down, it is wise to use cones with elastic cord across if you feel uncomfortable with clearing the hurdle.

The movement should come from your hips and knees, with minimal forward bending. Avoid letting your feet or knees move out to the side, keep the action smooth and under control, using the arms not just for explosive lift but also for balance.
