Breast Stroke

Performing a number of swimming actions on dry land with your arms will help work your shoulder and chest muscles.

BREAST STROKE
BACKSTROKE
FRONT CRAWL
lean over sligtly
take the arms up close to your ears
control the speed - lean slightly forward

Breast stoke actions can be worked in both directions, i.e. taking the hands outwards away from your chest, or inwards taking your hands to your chest then out to your sides (Old English Style). Focus on keeping your arms parallel to the floor throughout the movement.

When performing front crawl (freestyle) or butterfly, aim to lean slightly forward, controlling the speed.

Backstroke should be performed with large slow movements, with either both or alternate arms.
