Standing Wall Push

A good exercise, which can be performed with no equipment, other than a wall or sturdy tree.

START
NORMAL
lean against a solid object keep your elbows tucked by your sides
CLOSE
close hand position - thumbs and fingers touching

Lean against a solid object, with your arms straight at the start of the exercise, slowly bending your arms to take your chest to the surface.

Focus on keeping your elbows tucked in close to your sides, in order to maximize the tricep usage, as you smoothly push away from the object, in order to make your arms straight again.

You may decide to start with your hands at shoulder width apart, and then progress by having your hands close together - thumbs and index fingers touching.

The further your feet are away from the wall, the greater the lean, and as such the harder the exercise, however always keep your back and legs straight.
