keep your knees inline with your toesThe static method can be used for a number of different exercises, however always make sure that you warm up and stretch the muscles your about to use.

Simply hold in a static position for as long as you feel comfortable. Its best to work with a light weight, working through the middle or final part of the movement.

Take care when finishing your static exercise for the quads, especially if you have been low down for a while, as the contraction of the muscles, will reduce the blood flow to your brain, and can cause you to feel dizzy or light headed for a few seconds.

If you feel dizzy, stop what you’re doing, and aim to sit or lie down straight away, shaking your legs to aid blood flow.
