Jump to Box
Set up a secure landing box, with the height dependant upon on your vertical jumping ability, always start low and progress positively.
Stand about 1 stride length away from the box, with your feet together, legs slightly bent, with your arms by your sides.
Lower down a few inches, swinging your arms back, and then explode both upwards and forwards, swinging your arms through to help gain vertical height.
Aim to land on the platform with both feet flat, and securely in the middle of the box – it's important that the box is secure, don't use a number of step box platforms, as these will simply collapse underneath you.
A number of different drills can be used; you may decide to simply use the legs only, by having your arms placed across your chest, or changing your foot position.
Foot positions could be one leg jumps – side box jumps (left or right ankle facing the platform) – staggered legs jumps (one foot forward one back).
